Many children and young people in your community are experiencing extreme challenges with their mental health and the stresses of life. The statistics are dire;
- One in five (20%) of children will experience a very high or high level of psychological distress.
- 42% of young people feel stressed “all of the time or most of the time”
- Presentations to Emergency Departments for episodes of self-harm have significantly increased.
- Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people aged 15-24 (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2018).
When it comes to responding to these situations, many families and carers just don’t know what to do.
This is where you can become part of the solution.
EquiEnergy Youth is committed to providing training for families and carers, at no cost. To achieve this we are calling for the community to please donate to our charity so we can continue these vital programs.
You can also build your own capacity and help reduce the burden of mental ill health for young people in your community by becoming TAR3 trained here (free ten minute video);
